Cats About Town Adoption Policy
Cats About Town Society's network of volunteer
foster families care for cats and kittens until a permanet home can be
found for them. We provide the following services to each animal
under our care.
- FIV/FELV testing.
- Spay or neuter.
- FVRCP Vaccinations.
- Flea protection and de-worming as needed.
- Any other necessary medical care.
We offer a return warranty on all animals adopted through us, for the
life of that animal. If the adoption does not work out, or the new
owners circumstances change, we want the animal to come back to us rather
than be placed in an unsuitable home, be abandoned, or taken to an animal
shelter where it may be euthanized.
We also offer a health warranty for the first 10 days after adoption.
If an animal becomes ill during this period, for any reason except accidents,
we will provide necessary medical care through one of vets that work with
us, or reimburse the new owner, with prior approval from us, for their
costs up to the amount that our vet would have charged.

We interview all potential parents to ensure the well being of the kitten
or cat to be adopted. After a successful interview an adoption agreement
is signed. The agreement covers the following qualifications for
adoption:

nutritional food, medical care (including immunizations) as required
to maintain good health and never to physically abuse or otherwise harm
him or her. You will notify Cats About Town Society immediately
if this cat is lost.

is not already altered when adopted, You will spay or neuter it when
required (for kittens by 6 months of age).

be refunded, except by prior agreement with a C.A.T.S. representative.

or cat with another family without notifying C.A.T.S. and receiving
their permission. You further agree that under
NO CIRCUMSTANCES will you ever place this kitten or cat with any Humane
Society or Animal Shelter because you can no longer keep it.
- You will not have this kitten or cat euthanized
(killed) unless a veterinarian has determined that it is terminally
ill, AND a C.A.T.S. representative is notified and agrees to the euthanizia.

cat becomes ill within 10 days
of adoption, and if you contact one of the C.A.T.S. representatives

veterinarian. C.A.T.S. will not be
responsible for costs incurred at any veterinarian without prior approval
from one of our representatives. C.A.T.S. will not pay for care resulting from
an accident or neglect.
