Your cat has a favorite color!

Cats have great three-dimensional vision and can detect even the smallest movements in the worst of light conditions. But for a long time it was not clear whether cats could see in color.

Today we know that cats can differentiate between colors although not between subtle shades of the same color. Researchers of the Institute of Zoology at the University of Mainz in Germany conducted more than 2,000 tests in which cats had to choose between blue and yellow to reach their food. These tests demonstrated that in more than 95% of all cases the cats chose the color blue, even under varied light conditions.

So, chances are your cat's favorite color is blue!
